Integrated Pest Management
PROGRAM AUDIT
CropWalk is an IPM consultancy firm that provides pest, disease and production insights.
We work with growers by auditing their integrated pest management program with the focus of increasing biocontrol efficacy, application efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
With the constantly changing agriculture regulatory environments, pesticide resistance, and increasing pest pressures, it is imperative that growers consistently evaluate and fine-tune strategies for protecting their crops.
Growers of high-value crops seek our team initially to walk their crop and spend time with their team working to understand the pest management
context of their unique cultivation system.
This process is called the CropWalk Audit.
When growers choose to use the CropWalk audit service they are actively choosing to mitigate risk.
Let’s get into the details:
The CropWalk Audit begins as a diagnostic gathering of information around the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and external threats, which allows us to uncover risk and potential cost savings.
This leads to CropWalk Program Planning initiatives that benefit the entire organization top to bottom focused on action steps that align production goals with overall pest management strategy.
Followed by Employee Practices designed to drive both quality performance and labor efficiencies.
And finally ending with Resource Planning to give growers the ability to strategically plan their pest management program within their desired budget.
The CropWalk Audit 10 Step Assessment:
14 days after the audit, growers receive a detailed scorecard evaluating 10 categories with specific analysis of their successes, risks, and what remedial actions are recommended.
IPM Objective Planning – Development of the organization’s IPM goals and objectives with the right tools and information.
Facility Infrastructure and Layout –
Determining how existing or planned facilities will impact overall IPM strategy.
Environmental Control – Assessing a facility’s environmental controls or climate’s environmental patterns and how that will impact pest and disease management.
Plant Production Process – Reviewing steps that are taken in production of live plants, how they can be altered, and what risks are associated with the process.
Sanitation Protocols - Investigating the effectiveness of the sanitation strategy for the facility or field.
IPM Team Organization and Training –
How employees are delegated and trained to execute IPM efficiently and effectively.
Scouting and Monitoring – The process of searching for and identifying pests and disease on plants in an objective manner to record and analyze for decision weekly decision making.

Pest Control Effectiveness and Efficiency – How well current or planned efforts will meet financial goals and production benchmarks.
Record-Keeping – How historical records are kept for purposes of program planning and any necessary state or federal regulatory paperwork.

Biocontrol Supply Chain Management –
Ensuring cost-effective procurement of the tools and inputs needed for an IPM program, proper storage of products to ensure viability, and proper planning and timing for procurement throughout the grow cycle.
The CropWalk Audit will validate the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats within the grower’s organization as it relates to pest and disease management.
The action plan delivered to the grower lays the foundation for the facility to prevent pests, save labor and secure their biocontrol supply chain.
